Please girls, don’t let this happen to you. New at the craft, it is hard work in the beginning. Looking forward to the sewing future, because it seems as though your passion for this craft is growing, know this much that its always going to be hard work. But there are a few simple and affordable things you can do to lighten the sewing load. And in any case, it shouldn’t feel like hard work if you’re that mad about sewing.
It’s in your blood, and it’s in your veins. So, that being said, you’re more than prepared to put in the hard yards. What you should be doing right now and this is purely for added encouragement, is think what it must have been like for your grandmother. In her time, well, you should have seen the kind of sewing machines that she had to work with. Today, count your stitches and count your blessings because today’s state of the art, technologically advanced sewing machines will lighten the load and enhance your ability to produce quality garments.
What will also help is the acquisition of a good, functional and ergonomically sound sewing table. It’s ironic to learn how such supportive but no less important sewing accoutrements can be overlooked. Let’s not talk about prices. Money always has an unpleasant ring to it. Most girls know this when they’re shopping around their favorite boutiques, realizing that they won’t be able to afford some of those garments on the pegs.
They don’t need it. You know this. You have more fun shopping for your own, quality material, already inspired with your own creative sewing ideas. The poor child that lost her sewing machine didn’t have a decent sewing table to begin with.
